Nachito Herrera at The Dakota
Growing up in Oberlin, Ohio, home of the Oberlin Conservatory, I was always surrounded by great musical talent of all kinds - vocal, instrumental, orchestral, composition, classical, rock, jazz, electronic, etc. Meeting with Nachito Herrera and then hearing him play was a treat that not only reminded me of my home town, but also reminded me how important music is in our lives.

Buckets and Tap Shoes at The Cowles Center for...
I gotta say, the idea of guys pounding on buckets on stage seemed a little cliché to me, especially after many commercials and documentarians featured kids on the streets of New York just trying to make a dollar. And also the thought of these guys on stage then jumping up into tap dance just seemed… odd. And it was. And it was perfect.
